Can you tell me which document I need?
No. A notary is not an attorney and cannot select, draft, or explain legal documents. Ask the receiving agency or a licensed attorney.
Can you notarize a document already signed?
It depends on the required notarial act. For many documents, the signer may acknowledge an existing signature, but jurats generally require signing in the notary’s presence.
Do you provide witnesses?
Witnesses are not automatically included. Any witness arrangement must be discussed and confirmed before the appointment.
Can you refuse a notarization?
Yes. A notarization may be declined if identity, willingness, awareness, document completeness, safety, or legal requirements are not satisfied.
